The agency is headed up by founder/Director Spike Hull, an entertainment professional with over 30 years as a DJ, promoter, artist manager and booking agent, and an in-depth knowledge of music culture and technology and the entertainment industry generally, as well as commercial and financial acumen gained from early career experience with blue-chip organisations in the City of London

We are very selective about who we choose to represent - we look for committed established artists who demonstrate a professional and business-like approach to complement their immense musical creativity and performing talent, and who are great ambassadors for our own globally recognised agency brand and the events and promotions who book them.

During December 2010 we clocked up an amazing 13-year 100% unbroken artist appearance record worldwide - an extraordinary accomplishment in the booking industry, and one that speaks volumes for the dedication and determination of our artists. A huge thank you to all the artists, their managers, PAs and of course you the bookers that enabled us to work around the many obstacles thrown at us over the years - from natural disasters to man-made ones, air traffic controller strikes to lightning strikes, extreme weather to extreme civil unrest, car crashes to stock market crashes, and even the occasional war - despite all these the show always went on.

OUR BACKGROUND

Sparkle Agency was established back in the early 1990s - when our Agency Director, anticipating that his own DJ career would only continue for a few more years due to a recurring hearing problem (new DJs take note - PLEASE use noise filtering ear plugs!), still had the desire to be very involved in the growing DJ and dance music industry as well as the contacts to help others progress in the industry. This coupled with the emergence of new digital music formats and communication technology all fused together to become Sparkle Productions, our original name and still our registered trading name.

So we became the World's very first web-based DJ booking agency. Admittedly there was a lot of thumb twiddling going on for a couple of years before the web became more widely known and used, but this gave us ample opportunity to try things out, develop our roster and improve our exposure. Our vision proved extremely successful, demonstrating to the dance music community and booking industry.what could be achieved in the new media and setting the industry standard. Through that and various other firsts, we earned a reputation for innovation and much of the ideas that we introduced are now common practice throughout the DJ and entertainment booking industry.

Many years on we are established as one of UK's leading international bookers with particular expertise in the dance music market, however we continue to explore new ideas and we thrive on being on the leading edge (and often the bleeding edge) of the booking industry. 2011 is no exception as our new iPhone/iPad/Tablet/Smartphone optimised website launches with a brand new Sparkle logo which we hope will become just as familiar as our old one. We also pride ourselves on our ethical booking policy and reliability record, and we value and encourage long-term booking relationships and many of our customers return to book time and again and over the years some have become firm friends - we hope you will too.
